Cybex Anoris T i-Size - One of the safest car seats ever tested by ADAC thanks to an airbag!

Cybex Anoris T i-Size - One of the safest car seats ever tested by ADAC thanks to an airbag!

ADAC have just launched the results of their car seat testing which they carry out twice a year, and the CYBEX Anoris T has been crowned the safest seat in the 'toddler plus child' category that they have ever tested, an accolade that Cybex are very proud of.

Quick Summary: Cybex launched their Anoris T i-Size at the end of 2021 and were convinced that should ADAC call it in for testing, then it would have excellent results... and they were right!

ADAC are Europe’s largest Automobile Association that twice a year carries out independent testing of car seats. It is seen amongst manufacturers, retailers, nursery experts and parents as being one of the most stringent testing processes that go above the everyday testing that all car seats have to go through. Manufacturers can request a seat to be tested, but ADAC picks which seat they will test. This is usually down to popularity, the volume of sales and at times whether they have a gimmick or new technology (eg spin seats).

In November 2021, Cybex launched their Anoris T i-Size, a car seat they hoped might revolutionise car seats. The Anoris T i-Size has an integrated full-body airbag, an element Cybex added to their forward-facing seat which has resulted in up to 50% higher safety levels when compared to a forward-facing harness child seat in a frontal crash. Cybex believes that this is a game changer and will give parents the choice to forward face without any safety compromise.

ADAC took the Anoris T i-Size in the Spring of this year and gave it an overall score of 1.5 as well as a top score of 0.9 in frontal and side-impact crash safety and 1.2 in the overall ‘safety’ category – an impressive set of results. The lower the score, the better the rating, and a ‘sehr gut’ or Very Good rating of between 0.6 and 1.5 is very tricky to obtain. The Anoris T i-Size joins a very small family of car seats that fall into this category of safety – the Cybex Anoris T i-Size (2022), the Silver Cross Dream and i-Size base (2021), the Maxi-Cosi Jade and 3wayFix (2019) and the Kiddy Evo Luna i-Size ISOFIX (2016).
